Barbara "Babs" Reingold (Masters of Arts and Letters, 1988) writes, " Opened the 2010 season at the Morean Arts Center, St Petersburg, with a major installation titled 'Hung Out In The Projects'. Currently, maintain studios in the New York area and St Petersburg, FL. The “Hung Out…” installation centers on poverty, a first-hand experience for I lived in a project in Cleveland, OH as a young teenager. Submitted on Feb 1 2010. Timothy Lafferty (School of Management) Timothy Lafferty (School of Management, 1986) recently accepted a position at The PCA Group, Inc. located in Buffalo, NY as National Sales Manager. "The PCA Group is a full-service information technology company offering network services, custom application development, web design, VoIP telephony, and a full-featured ERP platform. Dennis Dennis (School of Nursing) Dennis Dennis (School of Nursing, 1972) recently accepted a position at Washington State Department of Health located in Tumwater, WA as Assistant Secretary. Dennis recently was employed at Care Full Conflict, LLC as Founder. "Throughout my career as a clinician, educator, researcher and consultant I have drawn upon the professional foundation acquired during my years at the SUNY Buffalo School of Nursing. As Assistant Secretary I have an opportunity to provide leadership during epecially challenging times to improve the health of the citizens of Washington State. My primary responsibilities include Epidemiology, Health Statistics and the Public Health Laboratories. Steven Magat (Faculty of Social Sciences) Steven Magat (Faculty of Social Sciences, 1984) writes, "Steve is the owner of the Greater Richmond Virginia office of Tutor Doctor, an academic tutoring company. For the last 20 years, Steve Magat had been a Production Manager with Capital One. He joins Tutor Doctor with a personal passion for youth activities and educational programs including sports and Scouting. Steve is a devoted husband and a father of two active school age boys. When Steve isn’t working, he’s either gardening, trying to play golf or rooting for his beloved NY Football Giants. James Gordon (School of Management) James Gordon (School of Management, 1996) writes, "James Gordon recently co-authored Office 2008 for Mac All-in-One For Dummies by Wiley Press. Mr. Gordon is a lead programmer/analyst at the UB Libraries and collaborated with fellow Microsoft MVP Geetesh Bajaj of Secunderabad, India. Mr. Gordon and Mr. Bajaj will attend a world-wide Microsoft MVP summit in February, 2010, which recognizes exceptional technical community leaders from around the world." Submitted on Jan 5 2010. Ann Marie recently was employed at VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System as Associate Director. "The VA Sierra Pacific Healthcare System provides healthcare to veterans at major tertiary medical centers in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Fresno, Sacramento, Reno, and the Pacific Islands. Scott Slesinger (Law School) In November, 2009, Scott Slesinger (Law 75, BA Political Science 72) was chosen Legislative Director of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). NRDC (www.nrdc.org) is one of the country's preeminent environmental organization with over 250 lawyers, scientists and environmental professionals. Slesinger is responsible for organizing the federal legislative efforts of the Council which has offices in Washington, New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Beijing. Most recently he was the lobbyist for the Environmental Technology Council. Before that he spent eight years as an environmental staffer in the House and Senate. Submitted on Dec 14 2009. Beta Phi Mu was founded in 1948 to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement among library and information studies students. Actually, the workshops and lessons took place under sunny skies and the eclipse itself was clouded out!" Will be doing the same thing for next year's total eclipse at Easter Island, hopefully.
